About Bo
Finding the Magic

Many people ask, who is Bo?

Well, Bo is me.  It's a nickname my younger brother gave me and just seemed to  have a rhythm with the beads-----Bo's Beads----so there you go.

I think I've spent my life in search of treasures.  From the time I was a small child fingering through my Grandmother's button box, I was always on a hunt for "pretties".  Such excitement!  This was the seed that started my fascination with beads and jewelry.  It fired my imagination to create and opened the world of art.   While  incorporating my fused glass pieces  into my jewelry, I made the natural progression to learn lampworking &  make my own glass beads.

The art of making glass beads called "lampworking" has experienced a revival within the past 15-20 years, though it's roots run back several thousand years to ancient Egypt.  Although I've always been involved in the arts, it wasn't until I discovered lampwork that I found my true passion.  This passion has become a never ending learning experience that constantly challenges me.

I was fortunate to have been introduced to lampworking by Cindy Jenkins and  Ed Weisbart at the beginning of their lampwork journey.  Now, an accomplished author of three wonderfully inspirational and educational lampwork books, Cindy is well known in the bead world.

I continue to learn through reading, demonstrations, classes and experimenting.   I've also been a proud member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers since 1995.   The allure of the fire from my torch opens new discoveries everyday.  I hope you enjoy my beads as much as I do making them.

Thanks to eBay, I've met many of you through sharplinedesigns with my lampwork or beadlady3 with my gemstones and Cynthia's sculptured pewter beads.  I'll be introducing more new things on my website, so check back often.

One more thing before I sign off, I couldn't possibly do what I love so much without my supportive & patient husband, Bruce.  He designed my studio, exhaust hood & cabinets, cuts my mandrels, cleans my beads, and solves every technical problem and MORE--------What a guy!  Thanks!

Enjoy!  April
