1 - Cut a length of 20 gauge wire the same length as the tool, about 2".
2 - Lay the wire in the tool so it is between the tool body and the eye winder post.
3 - Make sure the end is lined up with the mark on the tool and bend the wire slightly so the tab on the eye winder will fit between the wire and the tool body.
4 - Take the Eye Winder, slip it over the eye winder post and twist it clockwise.
Makes a perfect eye everytime. |
5 - Press the lever as shown to make the shank. |
6 - Wrap the wire around as shown.
NOTE: The wire is shown longer for illustration purposes.
If you cut the wire the length of the tool, you won't have any excess, it will match up with the end when you press the second lever. |
7 - Press the second lever and you are finished.
(Don't forget to smooth the ends of the wire with a small
file or fine sandpaper).
Add some coils and/or beads and you have your own unique ear wire. |

Directions to make the no shank and long shank ear wires are included in your printed instructions.
NOTE: Inexpensive 20 gauge copper wire from your home center or local hardware would be great to practice with.
